Message: DNC Convention - Challenges Ahead - Personal Responsibility - Dr. King speaks, America Forward - Non Violance.

Jack:  Good evening my friends.

Jim:  Good evening Jack and we bid you welcome in the love and light of Mother/Father God.

Jack:  Quite an evening I would say.

Jim:  You must have been bouncing around the stadium.

Jack:  I stood with Mr. Obama this evening unlike the last two evening where I believe I have taxed this young woman greatly for I have viewed the events at the Democratic National Convention through her eyes and shared my own experience with her.  This evening I was honored to experience energy not unlike that which was seen before the 1960 presidential election.  I recognized immediately that same positive drive and ambition for the future of this nation that has been sorely lacking in recent years.  I honor Mr. Clinton for his remarks last evening which did much to allay the fears of many concerning Mr. Obama’s youth and purported inexperience.  He quite clearly and concisely addressed those issues one by one and then summed it up by the fact that he too was deemed to be too young and inexperienced to lead this nation.  My friends, there is no one in the physical form who can take on the complexities of leading the United States of America without stumbling on occasion.  There are too many pit falls.  I can say without question that the Democratic ticket this year will come to this nation with a higher ethical standard than has been seen for generations.  Mistakes that I made, mistakes that Mr. Clinton made, mistakes that many, many politicians have made over the years are not as likely to take place with these two gentlemen and their families.  Will Mr. Obama be successful with all of his dreams for the United States of America? Most likely not completely, for no matter how you view the task list that he set before you, even he noted that it will take at least a decade for many of these things to come to fruition.  Does this mean that he should not set the wheels in motion today to effect change ten years from now?  Are we as a nation to say the job is too big, therefore we won’t undertake it at all?  My friends the last eight years have done 10 times that amount of damage to the fabric of this nation.  The road back will not be without problems, the road back will not be without challenges.  I am aware that there are some in your circle who have picked up a sense of profound sadness in the last few days.  It is to be understood that there are many who are close to the earth plain although in spirit, many who have lost their lives serving this nation in Iraq. There are many who have lost their lives as a result of illness that they could not have treated for they had no medical insurance. There any many who are both saddened by what did not take place during their lifetimes but they are at the same time hopeful for those whom they left behind.  Yes there will be great, great perils as Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden move throughout this country. For the change that they seek to make will be very unpopular with both the military industrial establishment and the financial elite both in this nation and abroad.  Yet, as you have been assured before there, are many in spirit who bring great protection not only to Mr. Obama and Mr. Biden but to their families, their staff, and their supporters as well.  Look to the future with light and love in your heart. Look to the future with the same hope for tomorrow that this nation has felt in the past.  Mr. Obama speaks wisely and with integrity when he says,” yes we can”.  For indeed there is no nation that is more prepared to raise itself to its ultimate potential as this nation is.  As I have been chastised recently for my soap box oratory I must ask your forgiveness this evening, having watched Mr. Obama’s speech this evening, President Clinton’s speech last evening, Senator Biden’s address last evening, the address of Mrs. Clinton, the wonderful words of my brother Teddy. Old habits die hard. I have been too near the podium and find it difficult to step back, but I will do so.  If there are any specific questions for me I will be more than pleased to answer them but if not there is another one who I know you will be very pleased to hear from this evening.

Jim:  The one thing that I have commented about is the fact that how well Barack indicated that it is going to take everybody’s personal responsibility to move this country forward, from the parent who doesn’t encourage their child or help them do their homework and just sets them in front of the TV.  It’s that personal responsibility that we’ve lost here for a long, long time.

Jack:  He firmly believes my friends that in order to heal the illness of society we must treat the cause not the symptom.  How can we chastise parents for being unable to help their children with their school work when these parents are being forced to work two jobs in order to pay the electric bill so their children to see their school books.  There is much that must change to achieve the lofty goals that have been set before us but know my friends that if you are willing to invest time, energy and faith in the fabric of the American people, yes we can.

Jim:  Alright and we thank you for being here tonight and we know that wherever you go the blessings of Mother/Father God journey with you.

Jack:  Thank you my friends and know that I will continue to ride the campaign trail as much as I can and carry as much impact as I can in the days and weeks to come.

Jim:  Yes we will have a hiatus this weekend because Phyllis and I will be out of town.
We will be rejuvenating our energy.

Jack:  Absolutely that is what Labor Day weekends are for my friends and remember the American people are the hardest working people, with the truest hearts in the world today. Be proud to be an American.

Martin:  Good evening my friends.

Jim: We bid you welcome.

Martin:  It is Martin.

Jim:  Yes 45 years ago today you stood in Washington and helped bring this country to a new direction.

Martin:  And on this fortuitous anniversary people of color reached, at least in part the mountain top that I envisioned.  My friends think for a moment of what today symbolizes in a world that just a few short generations ago treated people of color as slaves.  As recently as the anniversary that is celebrated today, my African American brothers and sisters were barred from institutions of higher learning; they were barred from the right to cast a vote; they were barred in fact from the ability to share the same space on a city bus.  The road has not been easy my friends nor have all the dreams of the people of this great nation been achieved. But see with your own eyes the tremendous progress that we have made.  This progress has been made despite the betrayal of those who have lead this nation in Washington and on Wall Street, in the halls of Justice and the radical churches across this great land.  Despite it all, the heart and soul of men and women of color, of men and women who are not of color have come together to make a difference and as a result, today, for the first time in the history of this nation, the United States of America has as a Democratic nominee for President of the United States a man of mixed parentage.  Which is even more phenomenal my friends than if he were strictly African American for as you know for many, many years those of mixed heritage were considered lesser even than those who were of pure color.  So as you leave here this evening and return to your homes, as you awaken tomorrow morning and go about the business of your day with all of its frustrations and all of its challenges, celebrate how far up that mountain we have come and indeed while I did not live to be there with them today I have been with each and every one of you to watch this unfold.  Congratulations American people on a job well done but now is not the time to give up, now is not the time to say the mission has been accomplished. For the minute that you loose sight of equality of all people you again commit this nation to a failed promise of our forefathers.  Let the promise ring true, let the music ring strongly.  Know that there is much to hope for in the future.  Honor your responsibility to see it take place.  Thank you my friends for letting me join you.

Jim:  And we thank you.  There is a full understanding within this circle and within the more that we touch that this idea, that this ideal that we are looking at right now will never be completed.  It is going to be an on going process to bring the earth plane and all of its future generation to a new level. We can’t give up.

Martin:  My friends there have been many reasons throughout these years where many said it was time to give up. You can see that no one gave credit to that school of thought.

Jim:  Yes.

Martin:  So imagine just for a moment what this nation can look like forty years from now if we make the same strides in human relations that we have made in the last 45 years.

Jim:  Amen that is true.

Martin:  Amen indeed my friend.

Jim:  Does anyone have questions that you would like to ask?

???:  What gave you the insight to go the peaceful route?

Martin:  Many of the greatest teachers throughout history have taught through non violence.  The greatest teacher of all, Jesus Christ, was of non violence.  Look at those such as Gandi, those such as Mother Theresa, many, many around the world have learned that it is much easier to get attention when you speak with a whisper rather than a shout, when you extend a hand in friendship than a club in anger. Peaceful resistance efforts to change are always preferable and yield a more lasting result. They may take longer but the results will be far more lasting and enduring than anything that is done through force and violence.  Does this answer your question?

???:  Yes, thank you.

Jim:  We can not stop violence with violence.

Martin:  We have discussed this many times my honored friend.

Jim:  Yes.

Martin:  I have missed in some ways our opportunities to speak more extensively as we have done some time ago but I know as time moves forward and as the great changes continue to take place around this wonderful blue marble floating in space the opportunities will present themselves again.

Jim:  Yes it is true. But it is important to also understand that any time that there is an insight to things that you would like to bring forward please step forward for we will place your words upon the website too, that all of people of color and non color can also read your words.

Martin:  I thank you as I always have kind sir for your understanding and your compassion and for the acceptance that I have felt in this wonderful congregation.

Jim:  Thank you.

Martin:  Good night.  May God bless you all, may he keep you safe and strong, joyful and grateful.

Jim:  Thank you and wherever you go we know the blessings of Mother/Father God journey with you.

Martin:  As they do with you.

Jim:  Thank you for being here.

Martin:  Good night.

All:  Good night.

Choindra:  Fellow teacher?

Jim:  Yes Choindra?

Choindra:  I see that our student did far better with the energy this evening than I believe her body would be able to tolerate and I thank all of you present who sent energy in this direction for it is truly your efforts that inabled this to take place this evening.

Jim:  That is wonderful.

Choindra:  I will stand aside for I know the hour is late and there is a young one in our midst whose education must never take a back seat to the work that is being done.

Jim:  Yes, she is a good student.

Choindra:  As a result of having good parenting and good role models.  Thank you my friends.  Be at peace; remember the lessons that have been spoken this evening for they will carry you far in the days and weeks to come in making a difference for the future not only of your continent but for the world as a whole.

Jim:  And again we know the blessings of Mother/Father God journey with you also.

Choindra:  Indeed.

Jim:  Thank you.
